Summer Institute

Award winning, intensive, rigorous summer program prepares students for challenging academic high schools.

  • 200 middle school students representing 35 public and parochial schools
  • 80 high school and college teaching interns & volunteers
  • 6-8 weeks of intensive (and fun) academic preparation
  • 3:1 Student – Teacher Ratio with an average class size of 7 students
  • Rigorous Academic Curriculum (Math, English, Science, Social Studies, Foreign Language)
  • Field Trips, Enrichment Activities & Events throughout the summer
School Year Program

The year-round program leverages the energy and talents of motivated high school and college students, offering them a leadership challenge as well as a meaningful experience of volunteer service.

  • Super Saturday Academy: Hands-on, theme-based curriculum units, academic electives, individual tutoring
  • After School Tutoring: Summerbridge/Breakthrough partners with local university work-study students
  • High school admissions workshops and individual counseling for families
  • Community service, service learning and cultural enrichment field trips, projects and special events
  • Family Association Events and Parent Workshops
  • College Bound program provides ongoing support to Summerbridge/Breakthrough graduates in high school
