Breakthrough Miami is seeking energetic, talented, responsible, and dependable individuals (of all ages) who are interested in volunteering! Volunteers are the backbone of Breakthrough Miami and are essential in ensuring a successful Summer Institute and school year program! The Breakthrough Miami volunteer program offers some insight into the program, as well as provides valuable experience for those who want to personally contribute to the mission of our work.
Volunteers are engaged in every facet of the program from assisting in the office, to assisting teachers in the classroom, and supporting full-time time in their day-to-day responsibilities. If you are a responsible, talented, and energetic individual, we want to have you as a volunteer.

Breakthrough Miami is constantly in need of food and snack for our students and the young teachers who teach, mentor, and volunteer in the program. Here is how you can help:
- Provide meals or snacks for teachers during the 2012 Summer Institute
- Provide snacks for daily staff meetings or special events
- Provide refreshments during Visitors’ Day
Our teachers, mentor teachers, and staff are always deeply grateful for any food provided by our families and individuals.
- Pick up an out-of-town staff member at the airport and bring them to Ransom to begin training
- Donate non-perishable food for out-of-town teachers (Examples: cereal, pasta, dry beans, soup, canned food). Donations need to be brought to each specific Breakthrough site.
- Provide housing for an out-of-town teacher for 2 – 8 weeks. Call or email the Administrator at admin@breakthroughmiami.org or (305) 460-2116
- Provide your work place as a host site for Breakthrough students to visit on Career Days
- Volunteer to drive a small group of students to their Career Day site
- Teach an art, music, or theater workshop for our middle school 7th graders as part of ArtSplosion
- OR if someone you know is a local artist, musician, craftsperson, or is involved at any level of development in theater, please provide us with their name and number and any other pertinent information so that we might call and discuss the possibility of conducting these workshops with the students
